Sometimes, you should leave the specifics out.

Normally, specificity is a good thing in a work environment.  It can reduce confusion and it’s always a good idea in documentation.  However, there are some things that should be left vague.  For example, when explaining why you have called in sick it is a good idea to avoid explanations like, “I had some bad mushrooms.”
